Did you know...?

This Snake Plant variety called Zeylanica has deep green leaves with horizontal ripples of light green. The architectural appearance of all sansevieria houseplants make them sleek and modern and they are low maintenance too. Found growing naturally in arid areas like Madagascar, they have adapted to drought so minimal watering is required. If you are a serial plant killer, don't give up until you've tried one of these.

The coolest fact about this plant group is that they have developed to photosynthesize during the day but only exchange gases at night, to reduce the chance of dehydration. This process is called Crassulacean Acid Metabolism or CAM. We don't believe there is enough evidence to suggest these plants reduce snoring (you'd probably have to fill your room with them, ha) but this process is why many suggest placing snake plants in a bedroom because oxygen is pumped out while you sleep.

Bright, indirect light is best but they can tolerate lower light areas too. Snake Plants hate wet soil so our recommendation is to water every 2-3 weeks if in a bright warm spot but less in the winter months and if placed in a low light room. A moisture meter is highly recommended so you can check the soil moisture level before getting carried away with the watering can.
